Looking for an engine

I need some help....I have been looking for a new engine for my truck for the past 2 months and have not been able to find one. i would like to purchase a BRAND NEW one or one that was currently rebuilt. right now it houses a 4.3l vortec 6cyl, but it is in REALLY bad shape. i was wondering where i could find one or if there is something better out there that could give me more power...any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could always go with a v8 swap. Definatly give you more power and I beleive it would be a straight bolt up to the 4l60e tranny you have in there right now. A standar small block shevy motor would fit in there with no modification to the firewall. i belevie they even make a kit with new motor mounts and such to drop it straight in.

yea like tommy said a popular swap would be a 350 SB chevy. Great motor

If you just want one to drop in, a Jasper engine would be an excellent choice. JasperEngine.com

Other than that, I'm researching a vortec 5.7L v8 swap at the moment and if money and parts are available, this will be done next summer.
