ls7 lifters in 4.3?

I have a chance to pick up a set of ls7 roller lifters from a 2009 z06 vette, will they fit in a 97 4.3? if so what else would i have to change?

hmm thats is a good question, im gonna take a edemacated guess "lol", and im gonna say yes because most sbc internals are interchangable. like pistons main & rod bearings etc etc. ill see if i can find some specs on the 2 lifters to double check.

lt1 guys run em so im assuming they will work for you.

Not a clue, but LS's and 4.3's are WORLDS apart.

Im not sure if they would work or not but i dont see how they would make any difference performance wise. The factory lifters in the vortec 4.3 are rollers

if you can use sbc and lt1 lifters in 4.3's then you should be able to use ls7 lifters. good for replacing stock ones, less chance of valve float at high rpm's, not like 4.3's rev very high. i believe the ls7 lifters are now stock replacements for lt1's.

What is your goal here? Are you having problems?

Senshi09 09-02-2011 05:29 PM

why not just grab up the entire motor and do a complete swap?

On some years, but not on a 97.

+1 Why? Roller lifters = roller cam = different pushrods................IIRC

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
