msd ignition

does anyone have one in there truck if they do plz lmk how you like it and if possible a pic on where you placed it in your truck and state your pros and cons too thanks

You really will not gain a lot with a stock motor over the stock ignition system. The newer engines have a pretty hot ignition already.

Jfutch101 06-07-2009 05:09 PM

ok so what exactly does it do

Mission 06-08-2009 05:14 AM

Please specify what MSD Ignition component are you referring to. It would help someone supply an answer.

Jfutch101 06-08-2009 08:42 PM

the multiple spark box

Mission 06-09-2009 01:32 AM

It basically fires spark more times longer to ensure complete combustion. Its works the best in high hp vehicles that throw a ton of fuel. I dont know if there is performance to gain with the box itself or with a complete ignition system but it would help.

so would it be worth to get one on a s10

Mission 06-10-2009 03:36 AM

If you have the money why not? I dont see it hurting performance.

Jfutch101 06-10-2009 12:39 PM

ok its only like 200$

xmradioguy 06-14-2009 10:29 AM

Save your $200 you won't gain any noticable performance from just adding a 6420 msd.
EDIT
apparently the fact that I have a 350 tbi in my jimmy with a complete MSD system 6AL blaster coil billet dizzy and MSD wires and I pilot a 1980 11 second camaro on summer weekends means nothing because I am not an admin. So only listen to admins, remember some people on some forums are mods or admins because they spend tons of time on the forums not because they are full of knowledge and some people choose not to be admins here even if asked (not saying I was asked), like me as I have another forum I look after.Yes I like run-on sentences.
