Default Nice 4.3 engine build set-up

I am building up my 4.3 vortec out of my 98 jimmy 4x4 .

tell me your opinions and if you think it will be a good or bad combination

i personally think it will be perfect for a daily driver

block bored 0.40" over
flat top pistons
crane cam #1439811 (.429 lift )
machined & ported heads
1.5 ratio roller rockers
hedman shorty headers

im thinking this combo will run nice and will bring it up from 190hp stock to around 230-250hp ? any comments?

V8!

the cost involved into getting to the numbers 230-250, is not worth it. I dont think what you listed would get you there.

Drop a v8 stock at 255. done.

I agree. You can tag a running v8 for +/- $500 locally if you know how to find them. Do either a simple carb setup or switch wire harnesses and computers and go! for about a grand you can have a v8 swap that'll turn heads.

https://blazerforum.com/forum/builds...jection-73518/ look at this i have done a lot of reasearch and searching to find the parts but it will be a mean build and its not too ridiculously expensive. also when u do that u have to have ur heads done which inclueds screw in studs and bigger valve springs to make ur vavle close and forgot to put it in there

I think it will get you close to 230hp especialy if you use performance chip and use a higher lift cam..

Im also considering rebuilding a 4.3 with flat tops and bigger cam. Im either staying with tb injection or cpi since I have a new seup for it.New injectors, fuel pressure regulator.Im also going to have the heads ported and polished.
