is this normal ( new 98)

I recently changed my coolant and flushed all the old coolant out and put in the 50/50 prestone mix.The old coolant was realy dirty and seemed to be the orange blend. My heat works fine my temp gauge only climbs up to 100 deg. though is this temp normal on my gauge...

No, it should be just below 210. Did you change your thermostat at the same time? Could be that or a bad engine temp sender.

No I didn't I should have though, is it in an area were I need a little gremlin to get too like my VW lol looks like my next project.. thanx..

Nope, very easy to get to, regretfully you will have to dran out some coolant though. Be sure to replace the gasket at the same time.

im willing to bet its the thermostat too. They stick open after a while and doesnt allow the engine to warm up.

98 Blazer thermostate done..

Thanks everyone just ran to advance auto picked up and installed the new thermostate and works like a charm temp went up and steadied @ 200 deg. Heat is much better. Job completed in 30min.

Glad you got it fixed! I'll bet you will see a bit of an improvement in you engines performance and mpg since it works at normal operating temp.

next time you have to flush coolant, grab a 1L jug of that CLR stuff, pour it in the old coolant and run it for half an hour, then dump it out and flush it with water. The CLR will strip all the gunk and grime out of everything. Works like a charm.
