well, im finally really thinking about some performance mods for my blazer
i want to know if i should do a 350 swap
or put a cam, intake, and lifter arms on the 4.3
i would love the expierence of putting a 350 in it
but im in highschool and dont know if ill have the time to do it
but also, if i supe up my 4.3, how many people can say they have a
pretty good running v6

its ur choice on wat to do, if ur funds are limited then the v8 swap is going to be outta the question and once you start dealing with engine internals it can start getting pretty pricey too, theres also a few companies that make super chargers for the 4.3 if you wanna go the forced induction route.

106k if an awful lot of miles for a supercharger.. the engine may not be able to take the stress put out by it..

Get some upgraded full injectors, a cam, and intake and see how you like that. I bet you'll be surprised with the results.

the super chargers ive seen put out a fairly low psi somethin like 5-7psi i beleive which wouldnt be too dangerous.

the superchargers made for the 4.3 by vortec are 3200
they put out 10 psi at around 3500 rpm
but can i do a 350 swap for 3200? i have approx 9 grand to spend, but i dont want to spend all of it on the engine, im also lifting it and other things like that
im trying to decide, because its one of those things where if you start it
you cant go back, at least not easily
my dad had a corvette engine in his 69 chevy and a holly carb and he told me that thing would fly
but the 4.3 is a good little engine, how much hp do you think a cam, intake, exhaust, and lifter arms, would give me. i do think it would be cool to have a hot rodded 262
ive seen where someone stroked the 262 but i think it involved alot of custom work
anyone done a swap on here?
also, i do like the idea of 22mpg on the highway and 15-18 in the city with a v8

IMO, swap it!!!! 350. You get more power, deeper exhaust sound, and worse gas mileage! (Even though the Blazer already gets like 12 or 13 mpgs)

actually the carbed 350 gets better mpg in the blazer then the injected one
i have another thread on that
i have another question
will the cam, intake, exhaust, and lifter arms raise or lower my mileage?

It should raise it, not a significant amount though.
