Or you could find a good machine shop, tell what you want out of you 4.3 and go through some options with them, have em blueprint it and dyno it, maybe even break it in for you.

i think im going to do the 350 swap, but it might not be complete till next year
im thinking about buying a used 350 out of a camero from the local pull-a-part for 130
and depending on how many miles it has on it, i will rebuild it using parts bought from pawengineparts.com
im going to use a corvette radiator, and hopefully be able to fit a clutch fan, if not ill use an electric
i have two questions
1) taking the fuel injected engine out, i will have alot of wires, can i just disconnect these wires take out the engine, and cut which ever ones i dont need with the carbed 350?
2)can i use the stock computer, or can it be programmed for the distributer and the added 2 cylinders
the reason why im going through with this is because i have resources
my dad knows someone who owns a machine shop
my friend is putting a v8 in a four banger stang, and he drag races
and my other friend know alot about cars like i do
i plan on doing this after the body lift so that i will have some extra room
i also plan on putting a cam and lifter arms on it
do you think that a v8 can get at least the same amount of gas mileage as the 4.3?
i will make a seperate thread on rebuilding and installing a 350 in the blazer
i might buy the engine when summer starts, rebuild it over summer, and next spring/summer install it.
ill have my full license in september of next year,
and ohio valley drag strip lets you drive at 15 so i might go down and test it after the swap

did some research and got some info from my dad and my friends dad
alright, so i need a pump with a fixed pressure
i run the fuel line from the tank to the pump to the carb
i have to find the wire for my oil gauge
run 2 wires that are hot when the key is turned
and run one to the distributer and one to the pump
and headers
how much does the pump cost
im getting that rebuild kit if it has alot of miles 130.00
the cam and lifters kit 135.95
chevy dress up kit possibly 189.95
holley 600cfm carb 290.95
the modded 4.3 oil pan 225.00
the conversion motor mounts, or make them myself 63.00
off set oil filter adapter 99.00
upper radiator brackets to set radiator up more 35.00
corvette radiator 250.00
v8 conversion manual 28.85
the engine 130.00
whatever the computer cost if i need one
new distributor and wires and plugs
and whatever the fuel pump costs
1577.70
im getting the oil pan down to the manual from jagsthatrun.com
they wrote the book on how to do it
but i can get the radiator and offset adapter from a corvette ls1 because they used the offset adapter
idk if i can make the brackets,
i can get a mod kit for the oil pan and do it myself for 25 bucks
maybe i can do the motor mounts myself, and i may not even need a carb
