Welcome to the Forum!
Just to give you a heads up, Usually when you post in the new member area you introduce yourself and your Blazer and ask your questions elsewhere in the forum, but I'll excuse you because you are new. Anyway from what I've heard, hypertech makes almost the best programmer out there, having had a chance to buy one myself. Do you have any othermods to your Blazer? lets hear about them! Post pictures! |

RE: power programmer
Sorry, no pics yet. No digital camera.
Well I bought my Blazer about a month ago so i haven't had much money to play around with yet.. I was just wondering if a power proggramer would be a good next step?Or would it be better to look at something else? |
RE: power programmer
It's really up to how bad you want something and how much money you have. If you want it to look nice first (ie new headlights tail lights etc) then go with those, I wasn't planning on getting a power programmer this early however Swart made an offer I couldn't pass up, I still have exhaust, air intake, magnaflow cat, amp, speakers and sound deadening material to go.....maybe some sweet new rims and tires but not a priority really.

RE: power programmer
Yeah, I opted to upgrade the looks first, simply becausethat tends to be the cheaper stuff (except the exhaust, which needed to be replaced anyway, so I just had my mechanic do the upgrade).

RE: power programmer
I've got mine Hyperteched, and it seems to go pretty good... Not a major noticable difference from stock, but there is a little bit...

RE: power programmer
my favorite is the firmer shift points :-)
|
RE: power programmer
I make my own shift points, lol
|
RE: power programmer
Yeah I still wish I had a manual, my old '84 was but I was just happy to find a newer Blazer that was blue and had under 100k miles.....
|
RE: power programmer
Yep yep, that's what I got, lol
The main reason I got the programmer, was actually for the tire size option... the rest is just a bonus, lol... Dropped my rev limiter down to 5200 RPM, too |
RE: power programmer
It seems that most everyone likes the Hypertech power programmers. I was contemplating buying the JET programmer which says it does everything the Hypertech except more like give real time data on air temp, MAF data, etc. As well as diagnose and clear check engine codes. Any thoughts or factual data of one being better than the other?
As 05ZR2 originally stated, has anyone used the new Hypertech Max Energy yet? thx |
RE: power programmer
Did you install that c.a.i yourself? I want a K&N one but it seems like a pain in the butt to install
|
RE: power programmer
To find the answer for O5BlazerZR2 and my own question about the Hypertech Max Energy, I called Hypertechdirectly. After waiting 30min on hold I spoke to a technician. Basically I was told that there is no difference whatsoever in the actual tune between the Programmer III or the MaxEnergy. The only difference and justification for the extra $ is that the Max Energy includes a usb cable to be update capable via internet. I hope this answers any questions anyone had. I personally think I will be purchasing the JET programmer.
