A Tremendous Gas Consumption.
you have to fill up the tank cause you must be driving a lot. The blazer has an 18 gallon tank(4dr) or 19 gal (2dr) and the fuel guage only covers 14 gallons of it. It doesn't help that blazers (at least mine) only get about 13 mpg
r u sure its a 18 gallon tank because mine almost is empty and on fumes at 14.5 gallon fillup i think my tank is 15 gallons although my sticker says 18 gal. it has to be off i got 20 mpg on a roadtrip this last weekend but i have a heavy foot for city driving i get 12.5 figure out ur mileage and ill be bale to tell u if u really have a problem but u must just have a heavy foot
Are you only driving to work and back? So roughly 8 miles a day?
$20 of gas at $2.40/gallon = ~8gallons (roughly) at that rate, you'd be getting a screamin' 3mpg. That is horrible even considering the fact that your truck never really warms up on your way in. If it never really reaches operating temperature, it won't get out of the enrichment mode that assists in bringing it up to temperature. Which means that it'll go through more fuel. So your drive in to work can not be all that you drive it.
It might help to know what year/engine/drivetrain you are driving so we can make some relevant comments.
For me and my '00 Bravada... I drive 26 miles a day on my commute and got 16.9mpg on my last fillup. I filled up at 207 miles, costing me ~$30 (12.24gallons @ $2.449/gallon). That was over a weeks worth of driving (additional mileage from errands and other crap that I have to do).
Something definitely is not right with your truck if you are putting $20 worth of gas into it without going too terrible far...
