1995 Blazer Idle/Run Problems
Here are the symptoms: Was running good, shut it off at the bank and when it was started back up here is what we had:rough idle, misses on acceleration, tach needle jumps and falls at steady run conditions, engine is running hot, seems to take longer to shift and holds RPM higher and longer to do so. Any ideas or folks w/ similar problems that were solved or maybe and indentical posts? Thanks in advance for any help.
Is the truck showing any codes? if so Auto Zone can scan it and give you somewhere to start.
if not I have done the following I have simular problems.
Clean EGR, When carboned up it will cause a very rough idel,
Clean IAC idel air control valve, also gets carboned up
I replaced TPS Throttle position sensor, cleared up my rough shift from 1st to 2nd
Check fuel pressure, Specifics can be found on this site
Change fuel filter
I believe my problem is a bad fuel injector(CPI) as mine is now starting to hesitate on mild ecceleration when cold but clears up at highway speeds.
Hope this info helps.

I understand what the codes stand for, I guess what I am looking for is the troubleshooting steps for these codes. I've spent all afternoon and up until now scouring the web for the procedures. Any ideas? Thanks. Dan
