1996 blazer no fuel pressure at schrader valve
I have a 96 blazer that had a slow start for about a week or two before it failed to start at all. I could hear fuel pump clicking on, so I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor first. The old plugs looked ok, if not a little sooty, but the wires were toast. After that it started right up and seemed to be running fine. Drove it about 70 miles to a family member's house, at which point it suddenly started to hesitate when accelerating from a stop. Shut off the engine, then it started once, had a rough idle and black smoke. Turned it off and it wouldn't start back up again. I tested fuel pressure and it read 0 psi, even while cranking. I figure it's the fuel pump, but I also smell gas on the dipstick, so not sure if it's that or fuel pressure regulator. Would a failed fuel pressure regulator or injector cause a zero fuel pressure reading? Any help would be appreciated.
