1996 Chevy Blazer crank/no start issue
Hello there,
I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer. It currently has a no-start condition. When you try to start the car, the engine cranks, but doesn't turn over. Occassionally it will "burp"; It'll sound like the engine is backfiring, but still won't turn over. I thought it was a gas issue first, so I replaced the fuel pump/filter. Didn't work. Then I thought it was an electrical issue, so I checked for spark (there is spark on all plugs) then thought maybe the distributor was 180 out, so I took it out, set the engine to TDC, and reinstalled it, but nothing still. I've replaced the crankshaft sensor too. What else am I missing? |
check fuel pressure...it should be OK cuz you changed the pump.
Check the cap and rotor, maybe clean them and re-assemble. Pull a plug to check it out, maybe even toss new plugs at it for the 15 bucks you can get cheap copper ones for. edit: any codes? edit 2: if you pulled your dizzy then you need to set cam retard, assuming it's the same as the newer ones(98-05) |
