1997 4.3 random misfire!!
 

I have a 1997 4.3 liter blazer. it was running great up until today. I came home for a lunch break. and as soon as i got back in it to start it up i noticed it sounded like it didn't want to start. almost as if the battery was dead. after a few cranks it fired up where i instantly new it wasnt running right. it was idling rough and i noticed a rich exhaust smell. on my way back to work it ran enough to get me there but i noticed the service engine light was constantly flashing. i parked it and looked under the hood while it was running and didnt smell or see anything abnomal. went to local parts store and ran the codes only thing is said was a random misfire. P0300. Has anybody else ever had any problems such as this? I think it has to be a sensor issue since it ran right until i shut it off and then started back up and the problem instantly happened.

just checked plug cables and distributor cap. The terminals on the cap are white and the rotor was a little corroded. cleaned up both with a brush and still running the same. guess ill check plugs tomorrow.
