1997 blazer hard shift from 1st to 2nd help!!!

Hi guys. I am new member to this site but have been on here before and found alot of helpful information. So where to start. Hmmm... I have a 97 chevy blazer and i have a hard shift from 1st to 2nd when i first start it up. I had the transmission flushed about 3 months ago. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it was one of my clutch packs. Is There a way i can tell for sure what it can be. I did buy a another transmission just incase this is beyond repair. I do tow alot with my blazer. Jetskis, 4 wheelers, snowmobiles. I bought a transmission cooler to put but trying to see whats wrong with it first. Any insite would be fantastic. Thank you

Hard shift meaning a long shift, sorta hangs during it? Seals are gone, at least that was the case for me. A bottle of Lucas Trans mucas helped, but it wasn't a cure. Mine wouldn't go into reverse when cold until the trans warmed up in neutral & 1-2 shift was long & when it did happen it was harsh.
If/when you replace it I'd look up B&M SuperCoolers for a cooler, they're great, have a cold fluid bypass & a 9,800 BTU is around $60 & rated for 16,000lb GVW. Pay another $15 & get a 24,000lb GVW cooler.
B&M 70255 B&M SuperCooler Transmission Coolers <--- what I have & I tow a boat & trailer - approx. 3500lbs
& more BTU cooling power B&M 70264 B&M SuperCooler Transmission Coolers
Great coolers & remember that 90% of trans failure is because of heat.
