Default Need Help With Tranny And Ignition

I have an automatic '97 Chevy Blazer 2dr 4WD and I'm having some transmission problems. Sometimes, more times then not, when I put the truck in drive it does not even creep. When I push on the gas the RPM's shoot up but the truck barely moves; this causes me to have to manually shift it which also does not help much. I checked my fluids and they are good, so I don't know what the problem may be. Also my key will not turn back so I can take it out, and somewhere I read about an access hole that allows you to take the key out when it's jammed. I'm only 17 and lost, so anything will help me right now. My dad thinks it may be the lockout converter.

Read through all the past posts on tranny issues, you will learn alot. There is some correlation between a malfunctioning ignition switch and the trans... I would eliminate that first (only for the the fact that you can get your key out), reading through the past posts you will find that there are various solenoids in the tranny that effect its function. Pressure solenoids. torque convertor lockup solenoid and 3 different shift solenoids, etc... (they are all relatively easy to change). But my best advice is to read through this forum and learn, it is very informative and if it has happened to you, it has already happened to someone here.
