1999 Blazer 4x4 Timing Chain Install Question
Hey Everyone,
I have a 1999 Blazer 4x4, 160k miles with a sloppy timing chain.
I am confused, all literature online says to TDC on the compression stroke for #1 cylinder to seat timing.
However, the Haynes manual states on page 2B-11 that Number 4 cylinder needs to be at TDC on the compression stroke.
I am confused and could use a bit of clarification.
thanks,
MJ

Either way - it doesn't matter. Line up the dots on timing gears both together in center, or both at top of gears - BUT either way distributor needs to point to #1 terminal when engine is at TDC of #1 compression stroke.
P.S. Haynes manual is a joke.
