1st gen trans into 2nd gen

Can a 2nd gen blazer have the tranny swapped out for a 1st gen tranny? Thinking of this to avoid all the electronic bs on the 2nd gen and have the good old floor stick.

If you are intending on swapping from the 4L60E automatic to a manual, why not just get a manual trans from a newer truck. You will need to have your PCM reprogrammed to remove the transmission controls.
