Thanks guys. My truck runs good right now, gets 17.5mpg (on the computer) average, even with the dead cylinder. So if / when I have to change the injectors, I'll go with the new design. One thing I didnt catch in your posts though - is it a straight in bolt on, no mods needed or will I have to change lines, pump etc?

It is a straight bolt in. All connections are exactly the same and it clips into the manifold hold down just the same. The only notable difference is the injector location on the end of the plastic lines.

u could clean up the sand castings marks from in the ports, i think them heads stock flow really well tho. i just cleaned mine up for looks, the runners needed the smoothing some instead of the ruff texture, ive been told tho the ruff texture is there to help with atomization of the fuel.

I think your talking about porting and polishing? If your real good with upright diegrinder with special bits you can do it yourself.I did it on an older engine turned out good.Do a search on DIY porting polishing. With that said the heads on the 96 and up are true vortec and flow better than any stock head out there.maybe you can get an old junkyard head cheap and pratice with before working yours from the engine you have.Thats what i did.
Also I think Rock Auto has the best price for the new style injectors.

i guess it probably wouldnt matter to much as the fuel is injected into the port and doesnt have to travel much before the valve anyhow.
