Almost sounds like you may have a bad tank of gas, something may be clogging the filter.. Take the filter back off completely, put a hose over the line coming from the tank put the other end in a clear jar, have someone turn the key to the on position without starting it. Watch to see if you get a good flow of gas thru the line, it should only spray for a couple of seconds and then stop,, if so, check the gas in the bottle for any weird odors, also coloring of the gas. I got a tank of gas in my blazer one day and the next day the fuel pump died, The gas had the worst odor to it and the color of it looked like it had oil in it.. It killed both the fuel pump and the spider assy...once you`ve checked for flow and color, have someone crank the truck over for a second again with the hose in the bottle for gas, check the coloring again. Replace the fuel filter again with a new one. I use Fram filters. Hope any of this helps ya out.

Make sure your pump has a good ground. Assuming it does you may have trash in your tank. I've dealt with something like this before only on a full size pick-up. The guy had a nasty sludge sediment, settled at the bottom of his fuel tank and was screwing things up pretty bad. (cheap gas from a off brand gas station)
