Default 2000 LT WOT no power *video*

Hey all, OSS here;

Have a problem on my '00 LT 4x4...When I go WOT, engine RPM increases, engine sound is loud, but speed increase is next to none. I have champion plugs in, a CAI (ebay) and no codes, running 87 oct. I'm bringing the truck into my school tomorrow to check fuel pressure. Fuel filter was done in April. Should I be looking at the poppet system?

well it looks like the engine is getting plenty of fuel because its getting up to that rpm no problem, so no problems with the fuel system. if its at that high of rpm and no take off or real speed increase then it has to be something after the engine, so my guess would be the torque converter. check your tranny fluid first. ive seen this befor so im almost certain thats what it is.

i would stop stomping on it like that because you will fry the torque converter even worse (if thats what it is)

hope this helps.

wish vid were longer so could hear a shift. put a vac gauge on it run a hose in the cab and drive. if no vac (under 10) at wot sounds like cat may be plugged, but cant tell really by the short vid. do u have a bad caliper? a really bad one lol?

I think so to, fuel pressure is fine. Looks like the torque converter.

drive it around for 20 min or so in the dark,after a few hard throttles etc pull over,leave it running and look at the cat...if its glowing red....you found your issue.

Thanks for the comments guys, I did a fuel pressure test today, and I'm at 61psi (key on engine off) Spec for this year is 60-66psi key on engine off. I noticed it didn't hold pressure as long as it should of though after key was off. I'll look into this next week. As far as video, I can make one a bit longer on a longer stretch.

I never go WOT, I put around town at 50km/h everywhere..too hard on fuel to stomp on her! Only did WOT for the video purpose. I'll check for glowing cat this evening, thanks again, I'll update with results, and check my tranny fluid.

Best way, drive to operating temp, check in neutral or park? Thanks!

Another thing you can do to check the cat, is remove the O2 sensor between the cat and the engine. If it runs better, then there you go.

Disconnected my maf, and it runs a lot better, i can actually kick her sideways lol. sould i be looking at the ohms for the maf, or voltage against spec?

Little update;

Hooked up the trusty ol' Tech II today in class, pulled this info from my P0101

RPM-2207
Failed First- 370km ago
Failed Last- 150Km's ago
Engine Load- 24%
MAF- 41.88g/s
MAP 89kpa
ECT- 93*c
TP Angle- 32%
ST Fuel Trim Bank 1 32% 168 counts
LT Fuel Trim Bank 1 10% 141 counts
ST Fuel Trim Bank 2 30% 164 counts
LT Fuel Trim Bank 2 12% 144 counts
Closed Loop
Clocked at 65KM/H

I'm starting to think it's a MAP sensor issue..I did a live data steam, and under load (in Drive, brake on, throttle on) I noticed on the graph that the RPM's increased, MAF increased, and the MAP increased, however partway through, map suddenly took a nose dive for a second, then shot up. Alldata suggests I disconnect the MAP and hook up a vacuum gauge to the port. Anything I can do from home to help diagnose the issue at hand?
