327 drop in

i recently came upon a chevy 327 and thinking of dropping it in my 92 chevy blazer lt 4x4 and ideas of problems i may run across i think the motor is like an 83 it has everything still on it and was running when it was pulled

All gen one small block chevys swap the same. Look at swaps for any 350 and it will be the same for a 327. I suggest www.v8s10.org for detailed info.

fiy GM stopped making the 327 in 1969, was replaced with the 350. Your engine might have came out of a 83 model something but its not a 83 model block. Get me the numbers cast on the ledge over the bellhousing behind the drivers head and i'll tell you the year range and exact size of the block.

yeah my dad just told me the same thing about the stop of production it was out of an 83 camaro wasnt sure if it was original

teh 327 was not put in any gm vehicle in the 80's they moved to the corporate small blocks, mostly 305 and 350.
teh 4wd system will be the hardest part. my dad has a 85 blazer plow truck with a 350 swap. it works well enough.

The 400 sbc was used in 80 and 81, lol.

Whats hard about the 4x4 part? A 92 has a 4.3 and the trans bolts right up to a v8. Only hard part i can think of is building the v8 oil pan or buying one.

obviously I am not saying it is not possible. I am just saying it is a little harder. With the issues I am having with my engine I would love to just throw in a late 90's vortec 350 and call it a day. My dad's truck is a bit of a hog, it does not have more power than my 4.3, but I remember driving a first gen with a 2.8 so i know why you swapped to a larger 6 and are looking at an 8.
