3400RPM at 120Km/ph (Stuck in 3rd) Bad for Tranny? on Highway

Hey there,
For whatever reason. My instrument gauges all went dead, and the check engine light lit up. The key wouldnt come all the way out, It was stuck in. Anyway, I didnt know this caused the Tranny to be locked in 3rd gear.

I was out on the highway for about 10 minutes at 3400RPM in 3rd gear, Not going super fast but you know...

Has this damaged my transmission?

That, or the fact that this has happened a handful of times, Sometimes lasting a few hours, meaning taking off from a dead stop in 3rd gear. How about this, does this hurt?
The transmission has been rebuilt recently, However, It has always shifted pretty hard from 1st to second, and second to 3rd - But after that everything is smooth as silk. I drive her pretty easy to compensate for this problem, But basically if I floor it or give it good gas it "slips" if this is the correct terminology. I do not know if I should have it looked at, Or if it is even fixable, but maybe someone here can offer advice :)

The instrument gauge problem hasnt come up for a few days, But, It seems to come up every few days and then adjusting the tilt on the steering wheel one position up or down seems to make them all kick back in... very strange, happened since i had a new steering wheel installed after a theft attempt destroyed my existing one. (The blazer security lock prevailed)

Anyway, the instrument gauge thing is especially annoying when it defaults you to 3rd gear in auto. Just wondering if I hurt new newly rebuilt tranny which was bloody expensive as all hell.

Thanks guys :)

If there is a warranty on it, I would have the rebuilder look at it.
