4.3 Tranny problem 97 blazer

So this weekend we had an issue where due to kids leaving doors open at an event. The battery died and we had to get a jump-start. 1/2 way home I started having tranny issues. I lost 3rd and OD, so 3rd and 4th. Fluids full and clean. I could occasionally get it into 3rd, but then would slip out and rev almost like was in neutral. No codes or diag yet. But anyone have any ideas. being that it can occasionally go into 3rd I was thinking that ommited the 3-4 clutchpac?? any ideas would be great. TIA

Well. Took it and got it looked at.. Tranny is shot. Clutch pack is evidently iljust the start if it. Was quoted $3200.

Wow! that's a lotta loot :icon_doh:
If it were me I'd be searching the bone-yards for a donor tranny. Maybe do an ebay search, there's used and or Re-manufactured 4L60E transmissions with warranty for sale, if ya know a mechanic who can do the labor.

Good luck to ya

Well the guy that said $3200 was a tranny shop. Because he knows us would cut it down to about $2000. Still too high in my opinion. Hubby has ran auto shops as in GM sales for years, and only recently got out. We were looking at wrecking yards, they are between $450 and $650 here. And you don't really know what your getting. I do tons of car work myself. Currently restoring a 1937 Pontiac deluxe 6. I've one a transmission before.....I just done have the time or the inclination to deal with it. He has plenty of old tech's who have worked for him over the years who will easily do it on a weekend for like $200. I'm in the Portland Oregon area so if you have any places to recommend a rebuilt with warranty for 6 to 800 I'd love it. I'd rather spend a little more and know what I'm getting. TIA
