4.3 Wont Start Warm

I just got a nice 95 Chevy Blazer and It started great. I drove it around and then when I parked it and shut it off. It would not start until it was cooled down then it would start again. Then basically the same thing. It sounds like it's trying to start, but dies like it's being choked. I'm think EGR Valve just not sure.

what engine codes are you getting?

i wont be able to tell what codes it will have. The person who owned it before me ripped out the plug used to check the codes. So I got to go by symptoms of the engine and what part could be the problem. I have heard this engine has EGR valve problems.

Is yours obd2? Is there a computer under the coolant tank on the passenger side?
I know your pain and finally found a scanner that would connect to my 95 after 4 years of struggle. If it is obd2 with the vortec, you should start by looking for a rich condition. Check the plugs and see what color they are.
Will it restart if you give it some throttle? The fuel regulator and lines inside the intake manifold are a leaky spot. Do some searches for fuel pressure testing and you will find everything you need about that.
In my experience the EGR does not cause a no start but will be a rough or lean (higher than normal) idle.

Your just going to have to start with the basics... fuel, air, spark that are required for an engine to run. Once you find out what is missing you can narrow down from there.
