4L60E Transmission
So, after a wee bit of fun, the regrets came not long after. I might've jumped some train tracks and blown all drive gears but 2nd. Where would I be able to get a really cheap replacement for said transmission? I'm trying to get one for under $300 but can go up to $500 if needed. Thanks

Sounds like the transmission is in failsafe mode. Does it have reverse? Could be electrical issue. Service engine soon light on? If so get the codes read. Good luck. Brad |

Find out what codes you have and we can go from there. May not need a transmission. What year you working on? |
If you are in the habit of jumping railroad tracks, you might want to check your frame for cracks also. As for where to find another tranny cheap, Craig's List or your local yard. Plenty of used 4l60e's out there.

Have you determined it to be internal problem? If it’s electrical you will still have the same issues after changing trans. There are a lot of areas outside the transmission that will put it in failsafe. Good luck. Brad |
