4wd to 2wd Conversion Question
#3
oh dawgggggg here we go! lol.
I removed ALL of my 4wd stuff,but the transfercase and tranny...why? because you'd have to either refabricate the torsion bar crossmember or else your driveshaft wont work with it(crossmember is in the way)...I found a write on where someone took a driveshaft carrier bearing,installed it on the crossmember and made a 2pc driveshaft etc. I cant find it.
gio,there. my work is done. lol..
if you have anymore questions message me OP
Just pull the front driveshaft,front diff,cv axles,put the outter cv axle ends back in the front hubs,or else your hub bearings will crash and burn as soon as you pull out of the driveway.

Just pull the
A - front driveshaft,
B1 - cv axles,
B2 - {Dissassemble cv at outer}
B3 - put the outter cv axle ends {spline shaft} back in the front hubs, {Torque to specs}
or else your hub bearings will crash and burn as soon as you pull out of the driveway.
front diff, {optional}

Note: Relabeled steps for 'A' and 'B' levels. A is easiest to resolve some 4WD 'binding' issues. If they are Transfer case related 'A' will usually free it up. But the front diff will still be a small drag. If desired then do 'B'. You must do ALL of 'B'.
Here's how to disassemble the joint from shaft

If that isnt clear enough, I recall Chris saying in another thread 'just beat the crap out of it till it comes apart'... LOL
After all.. they are cheap on ebay.
Here's one $85 pair rebuilt

Took liberty of edit, Those 4 steps ought to solve any drivability probs.. unless your transfer case is stuck in Lo, somehow
