5.3 or 5.7 vortec swap from 4.3 vortec

I have a 01 s10 blazer 4x4 and was just curious on how hard it would be to swap to a v8 vortec hell even the tranny because I know the 4l80e is stronger but basically I was wanting to stay with the spider fuel system so that I could just find some of those metal lines on a truck and stick back on mine so....if anybody has done this or know anything about it let me know I know the computer would need reflashing...but just kinda runnin stuff through my head so any info is appreciated...not a project right now but definatley thinkin about it in the future

Grab a cold one, sit down and start reading.

But if you have extra funds go with the 5.3 but 5.7 is definitely easier. Both have been done ;) search and read through v8 blazer threads here too

Why the 5.7 instead of 5.3 just curkus for the quickness of that for funds reasoning

no that it matters.....v8 is a v8 for what I want....this Is a test for signature an everything

97cherry is saying that the 5.7 vortec is the "easiest" swap for the blazer. When he says if funds allow go with the 5.3 he is referring to the 5.3 ls based motor which is much more involved as far as a swap goes but to most very much worth it in the end. Like he said though grab a drink and start reading there is a wealth of info all over the internet and any question you will have can be found with a bit of time and reading:)
