well... i have a '91 s10 blazer 4.3l auto-OD 4x4. and im trying to find a 5 speed tranny that will work in this truck. i already did a search and all i found out was that a 2.8l 5speed will not fit due to the differences in bolt pattern.. thanks..j.b.

you need a 5 speed for a sbc or 4.3, one from a 4x4 s10, blazer, or full sizewill work.

The only way it'll fit from a full size is if it's the NV3500, the NV4500 is too big.

You can make the NV4500 fit, just a matter of how much work you want to do ti make it fit.

Swapping from a auto to a maual is a lot of work to begin with. Hell, just pulling the tranny is a lot of work.

At least, since it's an OBD1 vehicle, he might be able to get away with fooling the computer to thinking the transmission is always in 3rd gear by jumpering one wire or grounding it...

That's the easy way out on the 1st generation W-Body cars, lol.
