93 4.3 vin z hard start, missing, dieseling...HELP
 

ok. i need some pro help. i have a 93 4.3 vin z. its just recently, like literally overnight, started screwing up. it turns over for a few seconds then finally starts, it misses at idle and all throughout the driving range from acceleration to slowing down, and it diesels or "runs-on" for about 3 seconds and finally dies down with a finishing knock after shutting off the key. i put a new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor button and checked the timing and the gears are lined up to the T. i even put a new timing chain on it bc it had a tiny bit of slop in it but i still have the same problem as before. so...any advice?

have you had the codes checked? try unplugging the throttle position sensor an see if the idle gets any better. I had the slow starting an the rough idle. changed the tps and its been fine for a few days now. good luck.

yes that has been changed. i got it all put back together tonigh but tried to crank it and the battery was dead so i had so i have to let it charge overnight. so, we will see what happens after a night on the charger. ill post an update and see what i have found out
