Hey guys I'm installing an auxiliary electric temp gauge in my 94 blazer full size with a 350. I want to keep both gauges working properly and I'm concerned if I simply install a tee into the factory sender location (between 1&3) that I may get lazy gauges.
Is there another location unused that anyone knows about? If this has been covered can someone kindly direct me to the thread? btw I'm installing oil pressure and temperature gauges in the overhead console (where the rear climate control would go if i had that) The oil pressure gauge is done and I'll post pics when I get this sorted out.
Thanks a lot.

I believe there is a factory pipe plug on the opposite side of the engine block that would take a 3/8 or 1/2 inch square drive to remove. It might be hard to see but it should be in the same location just opposite side of the block.

Thanks. It is between 6&8 in the head by the dipstick. The square is 5/16".
And would not turn for me. I tried heat but it just stripped. I've drilled it out with some mac left hand bits and easyouts. I need to get an angle drill so I can move up to the next drill size as space is limited. It still isn't budging though, damn. I'm getting excellent bite on my easy-outs but I'm afraid if I torque too hard i'll break the easy-out in the plug (I've done that before). So i'll wait, drill larger and move up a size.
What the hell did they use to install that plug? Jesus.
On the plus side I got my gauges installed.

Good luck with the drilling and easy outs. I changed my 4.3 litre myself with a GM crate engine (Long Block) and I had to transfer the plug from my original engine. I remember even in the engine stand I had difficulty removing the plug. I knew there was a port on each side of the bloci because different years have the temp sensor on one side and the plug on the other.

The gage installation looks very good, and I am glad that you were able to get the pipe plug out without damaging the pipe threads. Looks like a heavy duty easy out.

Thanks. I have to admit I create some of these situations myself.
