94 blazer overheating.....
I've got a 94 blazer 4wd with a vortec that has recently started overheating....
It has started blowing white smoke. When I run the air it stays cool, but even on short trips it seems to run hot and smokes....It has 169K on it.
Thanks to anyone who can help lead me into the right direction and get this fixed. I'm hoping that it won't cost over 1K to repair. I think it may be a head gasket, but would the thermostat lead to this.....?
Thanks for any insight.

You need to stop driving it, now. Before you do any damage to the engine.
It could be head gasket, it could be lower intake gasket.
Check the radiator for oil in the coolant, check the oil for coolant in the oil.
Have you had to add coolant to your system recently?
