94 no action when key nturned to start

:icon_bike: When the key is turned to start, there is no response. Battery fully charged, fuses check o.k.

check *S* terminal wire on stater and have someone check for 12 volts with the key turned to start, if yo uhave 12 volts (if not you have a open in the *S* wire and that needs to be repaired), try tapping the starter with a hammer(if this works you will need a new started due to bad brushes).

not alot to go off.
could be loose battery connection, no connection, starter burned up, ignition swich...etc.

There is 12 volts to the starter but solenoid doesn't pull in (no click). I need schematic of starting circuit to find wiring info (neutral safety switch, etc).

thanks for suggestions/comments.

There is 12V to what post on the starter solenoid?

There should be +12V constant to the large post that connects to the battery. When the key is turned to the 'START' position, there should be +12V on the small post of the solenoid that runs to the starting circuit. If there isn't, then you have a problem with something in the starting circuit.

But please clarify where you are reading 12V...

Seems like there should be more to that diagram...

what do you think is missing? thats the right diagram for a 94 blazer

Spectreblazer 02-18-2010 07:28 PM

i think like where each cycle of the key is broke down. i know alldata does that.

this just shows lock.

Well, there is a park/neutral safety switch located on the steering column of the automatic vehicles, yet that schematic does not show it (nor does the schematic in my references).
