I have a 97 Blazer 4X4 that needs a transmission.
I have been told that the 96 and 97 transmissions are the same.
I have a line on one from a 96.
I just want to make certain that they share the same transmissions and is there a way to confirm this from looking under the vehicle either by some numbers or another means.

fitments are 96-97 4x4 blazer, jimmy,bravada, s-10, astro with 4.3L v6.
