'95 Blazer shifts late (~2500rpm)

Hi,

I bought a 95 Blazer 4WD and it shifts late, I think. Or are 2500 rpm not to much?
Sorry about my bad english, I'm from Germany ...

Bye,
Hoelgi

well 2500 rpm isn't really all that horrible in my opinion. Have you driven it around a lot to get the transmission warmed up? I know my transmission tends to shift a little later when it is still cold.

It shifts cold as late as when its warmed up. 1-2 between 2000 and 2500, 2-3 2500 to 2800. When I release the throttle it shifts earlier. I tried to adjust the "gear-cable" but it has no effects.

If these are the shift points during full throttle acceleration they sound okay. Since you say it shifts earlier when you let up on the pedal it sounds about right to me.

Mine shifts at about the same points. Under full acceleration like gettin' on it to pass its not uncommon to have a 2,800 - 3,000 rpm shift these engines are very torque strong.

Ok, thank you guys. Good to know that the shiftpoints are OK. In Germany S10 Blazer are very rarely so I can't ask anyone. (I had seen only a second one in my city...)

Hey, Hoelgi, I don't think anybody ever told you [sm=welcomesign.gif]to the forum! It's always good to hear from members across the pond. Since parts and repairs for your Blazer may be harder to find in Germany, feel free to ask questions anytime.

Big Thanx for your welcome! Parts are no problem in Germany, but information and experiences... but for this little problems you get a head-turning car!
Us-cars are very rare in Germany because of the myth of high fuel consumption :) Germans like it to drive around in little ugly cars with 50HP...

Bye,
Hoelgi
