If you've removed vacuum from the system and there's no other problems with the 4WD system, then the 4x4 should be completely disengaged. You can still enegage the transfer case, but the front hubs will not be locked, so you should have no 4x4.

If you've removed vacuum and 4x4 is still partially engaged, then you've got problems in the front differential.

Holy run on sentence... Please use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. You might just see the responses come a little more frequently if you show that you actually care about making your posts easy to read for others.

Besides, there is TONS of information available to you about 4wd problems if you would just search for it. HINT --> There is a thread specifically about this in the Tech Article DIY section, an index of which can be found in my signature below. That section should be the first stop for people that are having problems as it is a quick read through to see if there are already articles on your particular problem.

I believe you have found the electronic sensor which detects that the front differential cable has been pulled by the actuator. This is not the vacuum switch - that one sits on top of the transfer case, behind the transmission (directly under the back side of the driver's seat, more or less). It's a little tricky to find if you don't know what you're looking for, but look for 3 black hoses, all kind of tied together and joining into a rubber cap/connector thing. The hoses all connect to the transfer case vacuum switch, which threads into the top of the tranfer case.

The transfer case is bolted to the back of the transmission and the front drive shaft runs from it to the front differential. The switch is right above where the front driveshaft pops into the transfer case. There are 3 black vacuum lines connected to a plug that plugs into the switch. If you can't find it you might be better off taking it to the shop.
