97 Blazer cranks but won"t start
I have a 97 blazer with a 4.3 vortec engine. The blazer died while driving down the road, and had to be towed home. I have replaced the ignition module, and had the coil checked. The coil is fine and has spark. The fuel pressure measures 50psi the first time the ignition switch is turned on then goess to 54psi the second time. These readings are pretty consistant as I test them over again. What is the proper fuel pressure for a vortec with MFI? This truck has 160k miles on it with the original fuel pump still installed. I had problems recently with the gas gauge not working also. I also installed a new battery recently. Does this sound like a fuel pump problem, I am leaning towards this, however I would like to know the proper pressures required to make the motor start and run. I have had it running a couple of times for a few seconds then it always dies out. Please help!!
