97 blazer half shaft installation question
 

Can some please tell me the secret to getting the shaft to seat on to the mid-shaft? I have spent an entire day trying to push it on, hitting it with a hammer to try and get it started, and put an air hammer in the middle of the shaft. No luck at all. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I see there appears to be an "e" clip still attached to the mid shaft that I am trying to attach to but other than that can see no reason it won't just slide into place. Thank you in advance for your help.
