4.3 Vibration

4.3 Vibration
Is the 1990 4.3l internaly balanced, and if so why is there a weight on the flywheel. I have been fighting a vibration for two years on a new motor. I have a huge list of new parts that I have put on to eliminate the problem. The final straw was upon some advice from others, I took a chisel and cut off the wieght on the flexplate, it made it worse so infact is the 4.3 an external or internal balanced motor?

To my knowledge the engine balances via flex plate, If it was properly balanced could it possibly engine mount? Did you change them?

Yes I put on some expensive urethane jobs no difference at all. is there a chance the flex plate has multiple mountings I know there is a guide pin? I have put two new ones on so far and now that I have chiseled off the weight I will put on another.I know I am buying the right one it fits tons of different applications

I have also run the engine with the flexplate unhooked form the Torque converter still vibrates. but just in case I did put a new trans and torque converter in. no difference

is there a way of knowing where the flex plate weight is in relation to the keyway of the harmonic balancer?????
