98 Blazer shifting problems....neep help please
Hey yall, I have a 98 Chevy Blazer 4x4 that all of a sudden started having shifting problems. We put it into reverse yesterday and when we did it slammed into gear, we then put it in drive and had the same result. We had to get it home and noticed it shifts into 1 and 2 very quickly but it goes up and over 3000 rpms trying to go into third. Ive only got it up to about 25mph before I stop pressing the gas cause I was scared of doing more damage. I changed the transmission filter ond fluid but it still has the same problem. There was no metal in the pan or no gear parts. The check engine light isnt on and it starts fine but we are stumped on what could be causing this. We arent a rich family and this is my work truck and our only transportaion so any advice would help us out. Thanks

Do you have any codes showing such as P1870 and have you checked the fluid level?

I have 2000 blazer stuck in 2nd gear , abs and parking light goes on and off and sometimes speedometer works . I have been researching and came up with vss and shift solenoids.

would the shift solenoids cause it to shift to 3rd gear before going 30mph....it acts like we are already going as fast as we can but we top out at about 40mph and it still hard ****s from first to second gear and I also dont feel it downshifting at all. There are no codes or check engine light on. Would that be the shift solenoids or something else...we have already changed the fluid and trans. filter and there was no metal in the pan so we are kinda at a stand still on what it could be. |
