98 blazer thrown rod`
welp my neighbor borrowed my blazer and threw a rod... anyhow motor is blown... and now i have the option of a $500 motor from salvage yard.. or i do have access to a 95 chevy astro van that is about to be scraped because the second tranny put into it didnt last very long.. Great motor though... the 95 4.3 has different intake.. what besides the oil pan would i need to carry over in order to make this swap happen... if its easier and even possible id prefer not to swap the intake system... 100 buck oil pan and pull my own motor or 500 for complete motor.. also the 95 4.3 is a more powerful engine.. would the heads have to swap out in order to use my intake system if the computer doesnt mesh with the other intake sensors and what not? anyone done this.. im bout to start searching thread now..

if i remember correctly you would have to use the 98 heads and that would require you fill the head bolt holes in the 95 block drill and tap new ones. i also have a 98 blazer with same issue. looked into it and had a 95 engine at my disposal. there is a thread here some where, this site is where i found the info that led me to buy a correct year engine.
