98 Engine Mounts

'98 Blazer LS, 4WD, 4.3L V-6 Vortec, Vin "W". Looking for opinions on lifting my engine to change the engine mounts. Currently I have the tranny removed. Though I do have the lifting shackles (the second bay of my garage has a '97 Blazer with the engine removed), I really do not want to remove the air conditioner pump and whatever else to install the shackles. If I were to disconnect one engine mount at a time and use my hoist with a strap under the exhaust manifold to "roll" the engine to access each mount, does anyone perceive this as a stupid idea for whatever reasons? Thanks for any input!

Using the exhaust manifold to roll the engine is just asking to crack, break, or both.

Thanks Neo...my gut told me to get a second opinion. As much as a PIA the mounts are I was looking for any shortcut I could. With my tranny out I'm taking care of the transfer case switch, vacuum lines (fluid in lines), and anything else that needs attention before I but the box back in. While I was torquing the flywheel bolts (75 ft lbs) the engine rolled clockwise (drivers side lifted up) very easily well before torque. Even though to the best of what I can see, the engine mounts seem fine (jacked the engine up several times), figured the mounts might be weak at a minimum. With the tranny dropped, just gives me that little bit more access, so figured I'd put new mounts in. This $250.00 clutch set job is practically turning into an overhaul :)
