99-98 motor swap

Im new here but, I have kind of a story behind my blazer, I'll start it out with this, my sisters first car was a green 99 blazer that she paid 1200 for with just shy of 200,000 miles. She loved it and frankly I did too. We hydrolocked it and blew up the trans trying to mud with (bad idea, never again) so my dad and I replaced the transmission and got it running right again, my sister drove it for 3 weeks until she hit a drunk driver and totaled it (she was 100% okay thankfuly) so it sat for 5 months until I found a 98 white blazer that needed a motor for sale about 2 hours away from me, $400 later and I was towing it back with my truck. Now we get to where I am now. I have the good motor, trans, and tcase out of the wrecked blazer. But getting the junk motor out of the white blazer is proving difficult, the top two and one on the drivers side bell housing bolts are damn near impossible possible to get out, even with my array of flex sockets, wobbles and extensions, so are there any tricks I should know of?? And should I do anything before putting the good motor back in? Thanks for any input!

Hello, i have done this before. My advice is to buy a 2" body lift kit because i have found that lifting the body up a couple of inch`s works, so if you decide to do that you may as well do the body lift. The important stuff to get to are the 4 ground wires ( 2 on each head ) the fuel lines, knock sensor, dist. And oil pressure switch wires and trans bolts. Later bud...........

Lower the back of the trans and use about 2-3 feet of extensions to go over the top of the bell housing. You'll laugh when you realize how easy it is to get to the bolts that way (I think I might have giggled like a little girl :) )
