Another 4WD Issue
 

Heres my problem, i got a 96 jimmy with 154,000 on it. My Four Wheel Drive doesnt work as of now. I reset the computer using the procedure in the DIY Forum Section. I also jumped the ground to pin 13 and got a code 2 readout from the 4wd switch lights. It says its an encoder fault (transfer case motor). Where should I go from here. I checked the vaccum line to actuator and it seems well. It will not do anything on the go it just stays in 2wd. My service light isnt on, I am also hearing about a Transfer case switch that seems like a cheaper easy fix compared to the encoder motoy, Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated....

Replace the encoder motor.
