Default B&M SUPERCOOLER????

Just wondering if anyone has used a B&M SUPERCOOLER for their Auto Trans? I bought one & plan on putting it on, I tow with our Blazer & the last time I did I burned the tranny fluid so bad it was dumping fluid out the vent. The tranny survived after a tranny flush & filter. But I'm hoping to avoid overheating it again with this NEW cooler. Any info would be appreciated.

Search is your friend! keyword == "supercooler"

A few years ago (wow, 4yrs ago)... Anyway, the B&M SuperCooler is what I use. Just measure up the area in front of the condenser where you can install it and get the largest one that will fit and still allow for proper routing of the hoses.

I have the supercooler on my blazer. I recently installed a trans temp gauge and the highest it gotten to is 150F. Usually it stays between 125F-150F.

Thanks for the info. I towed with our 2004 Trailblazer without issue or adding a cooler, so I'm hoping the addition of a good cooler will allow this Blazer to give us the same good service. I bought one that is 8" X11" it is rated at 13,000 BTUs. I'm please to hear there is a low temp with a cooler. Because anything under 150 degrees is good.

I know this maybe a stupid question for some of you, but I would like your opinions & ideas. I bought as posted before a B&M SuperCooler for our 1997 Blazer 4x4, with factory heavy tow package. What my question is I want to know if you guys leaving the factory trans cooler coil in & just taking out the top loop & splicing in so the fluid would go into the B&M cooler then exit & back into the factory coils & return to the tranny? This would give me more fluid a few ounces plus the fluid being in front of the condenser for additional 4 ft as it travels through the coils.
I hope I make sense in what I said, just want your opinions.
Thanks Craig
As stated in some of the threads linked to in the search results above, it depends on the conditions you typically drive in. Over cooling of the transmission fluid, even with a viscosity bypass that B&M coolers use, can be a factor in low temperature conditions. I use a cover on my coolers to keep the temps in check and make sure that the fluid is not being over cooled.

As some other threads state, the upper line is the line from the transmission with the lower line being the return to the transmission. On my Bravada, I used the upper line out of sheer convenience and the temps even in the summer with a fully stacked straw wagon behind it, it kept the transmission in the 180*F to 195*F range. The cooler in the radiator is an effective cooler, why take it out of the loop?

Kyle,

Our Blazer has a radiator trans cooler & about 4' of tubing in S shape without fins in front of the condenser on the left side from the factory. This Blazer has the 8 prong trailer plug that the owners manual says is the HEAVY TOW PACKAGE. I was going to keep that also making a total of 3 coolers. I burned the tranny pretty bad towing with the 2 coolers that I have now. So I have decided to add the B&M. That is what I was going to splice into to add the B&M. I'm explaining this because I don't think I was clear about what I want to do. I have never had a tranny run TOO cool my driving assures that. I apologize about starting another post, & you warned me about that sometime back.
Thanks,
Craig

The coil in front of the radiator is for the power steering fluid so do not mess with that.

Kyle,

OK, Thanks for that info. I hadn't crawled under & removed the skid pan to follow the lines out. Again thanks for that info.

I installed the cooler today. Mounted cooler about an 1" in front of condenser. Plumbing was a tight fit but it is in no leaks.
