Belt tensioner pulley removal question

on the actaul black pulley that has the bearing in it, there is a bolt through the center that holds it on, which way do you turn the bolt to remove it? is it reverse tread or standard tread?

I believe it is standard, so lefty loosely.

I am not sure on this, good question, as I know on the first gen you go to the left to take tension off the belt to remove it, and i was putting quite a bit of pressure on that bolt to keep tension off the belt and it did not break free,

Your refering to the solid black pulley on the right of the alternator right? Or the tension relief pulley?

its reverse threaded. right to loosen, left to tighten.

are you 100 percent sure? i can't afford to damage anything so thats why i want to be sure. 3 guys on the other s10 forum said its standard tread but it can't be. just like the guy wrote above , i was putting quite a bit of pressure on that bolt to keep tension off the belt and it did not break free... Chris, if you have done this before, please let me know?

both tensioner pulleys ive pulled of cpi was reverse threaded. 100% sure on the 2 i did. could the one you have be normal? maybe...but probably not. just speaking from what ive done.

I did my belt tensioner pulley a week ago or so, but I have a 98 blazer, it was lefty loosey, I'm not sure if that is what you are talking about.

The bolt is reverse threaded. I just removed the black pulley (the one with the bearing) on my 1995 S10. Turn the bolt clockwise to remove, counter clockwise to tighten.
