Blazer won't start
Hi guys, having some issues on my 2000 4wd blazer 160k+ miles. We have done some troubleshooting but can't seem to figure this one out. Am about to take it to a shop but I figured I'd try posting here first. Blazer ran good until it died on my dad while he was driving it a few months ago and wouldn't start back up. Had a completely dead battery, bought new one but now it won't start. It tries to turn over but nodda.
Battery has full charge Fuel pressure at 60psi, siphoned out some fuel in a glass jar, looks and smells good, no separation or debris. Is getting spark, it's orange in color, using platinum plugs that are about 2-3 yrs old when I did tune up. The plugs do appear to have some oil on the threads but they are a few yrs old with some miles on them. The only code is P0463 which is nothing new, fuel gauge went dead about 2 months after I replaced the fuel pump...about 5 yrs ago. Any ideas would be great. Working 10hr days so not a lot of time to mess with a spare vehicle but I want to get it running for my dad. Thanks. |
Although the fuel pressure is 60psi will it hold? You could have hard or no start due to a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Have you tried shooting just a small amount of starting fluid into it and then see if it tries to start?
(dont spray a lot though! just enough to see if its not getting fuel) |
Good idea

I had similar issues with my 99. Would hardly ever start after sitting for more than a day. Would start and run great after shooting some starting spray in throttle body.
Ended up replacing the spider injector with a new MPFI unit and now it starts first time every time. |
