Can you run an engine on moonshine?

I'm interested in alternative fuel sources, and I've heard that you can run an engine off moonshine. Is that true? If so, I'd like to make some brew and use it, it would be cheaper than all that gas and I wouldn't have to worry about it. I'm not worried about it being flammable enough, my main concern is having it gum up the carb and the engine. Any advice?

ya......uh hu.....ya.....no...... alcohol and water mix in any ratio so you could in theory hydrolock the engine if made incorrectly. Next the Decomposition of the alcohol is going to make more water and your engine isn't designed to handle the amount it would make. That is why alot of the flex fuel engines are made from stainless steel and not cast iron. Second if your going to make that much moonshine to sustain your blazer, it would be more benificial to sell it to people so you can afford more gas lol

Yes, It can that is actually how Nascar got it's start but past that I have no idea what all it involves to make your car run on that.

sure it's possible, haven't you guys ever seen dukes of hazard? COME ON, their car ran great on shine, and if they can do it on tv it's got to be true.

but don't, the dangers outweigh the costs
