Car Jerks/Bucks when accelerating quickly..
Hello everyone, first time poster, long time reader.. I love your guys stuff here..
I own a 98 Blazer LT, 4wd Anyways, I've got a strange issue and I'm not sure what it is. Whenever I accelerate from a stop only, around 2500-3000rpms, my Blazer starts to buck or jerk when it accelerates. I've been thinking this is a transmission issue, but I'm not sure anymore. It doesn't seem like its slipping, this bucking doesn't happen around a shift point. I'm not sure I can say its a fuel/air issue either though, because its entirely fine at high speed/acceleration past 25mph. I've gone through a list of thoughts, MAF, Throttle Position Sensor, just not sure where I should look first. Thanks! |
I recorded a video to give an idea of what I'm talking about. It's not doing it as bad as it was, but at about 4 seconds the RPMs drop back down real quick, and the car jerks.. It happens again later in the video as well..

if this happens to get worse as the car heats up, check your wires and ignition coil at night to check for arcing. mine had a similar problem as yours start there.
|
New plugs/wires a few months ago, haven't had a look at the coil yet though, and I know the car has had some electrical problems in the past.. will check tonight, thanks!

mine does something similar i think my trans fluid levels arent right
|
I'm thinking now more than ever that its just simply the trans going out. I think I'm going to get with a friend who has a tool to be able to scan it to make sure before I shell out the $. Thankfully he'll rebuild it for a fair price, can't complain, it's worth it.. thanks for the help again
