Carb cutting out

Hey guys! I haven't posted in awhile! To update you on where I am at with my Blazer, this last winter I got rid of my 700r4(I know bad idea!) and swapped in a rebuilt th350 with shift kit! After that project I bought some Vortec heads and threw them on what I thought was a Chevy 350... It turned out to be a 400. That turned out badly! Cracked my block! Rebuilt the original motor with the Vortec heads!

That brings me to my question! Since I put the 400 in a went too carb(against my best judgement!) Well, the carb has done me just fine...until now! With my Vortec heads I had to get a Vortec intake which is for a square bore carb, I have the original Quadrajunk spread bore so I had to get a spacer.

Now every time I just barely press the throttle, say taking off from a stop, it wants to cut out. Now, I've had numerous friends tell me its getting too much fuel, but since it never happened before, I think its getting too much air, especially with the spacer! What do you guys think?! Is there a thinner adapter I can get? Do I need a different carb? Am I getting too much fuel?!

If you mash on the throttle it'll cut out for a second and then take off, takes the fun out of racing! Any help is appreciated! I'll post pics!

Thanks!

youre probably going to have to find someone with that exact set up to see what they did. my 400 had the original 2 bbl on it and never ran right. so finally swapped intake to a 4bbl intake, tried a quadrajet, then a edlebrak, then finally bought a new holley. even then i still had to take it to someone to have it tunned right
