Choosing a Torque Converter
It looks like my rebuilt tranny is going to be ready on Tuesday. I'm gonna ask this same question to my mechanic as well. I see rebuilt torque converters all over the internet that very greatly in cost, anywhere from $99 to $500. Some have been built to with stand hundreds of horsepower (600+), with high stall speeds, something I don't need. :icon_no: The transmission is the 700r4 and my truck has 160hp with 230ft lbs of torque. Anyone have any suggestions on finding a quality torque converter for a fair price? What to look for and what to look out for? It has the lock-up cluch for overdrive too. Thanks for any input.
